Suzanne Walker-Pacheco, Paws to the Polls faculty coordinator
Walker-Pacheco is faculty coordinator of Paws to the Polls, a nonpartisan initiative focused on voter participation and voter literacy at Missouri State University. She is professor of sociology and anthropology at Missouri State.
Paws to the Polls, Walker-Pacheco explains, is working to increase the number of students who vote. Just as important, the group offers resources for students to become well informed before entering the voting booth. The organization’s name is a reference to the Missouri State mascot, the Bears.
