Information for Voters

Voting Is the Foundation of our Democracy

Voting is a fundamental right and all eligible voters should have an equal opportunity to exercise that right. The League of Women Voters is dedicated to ensuring that our elections remain free, fair and accessible.

Why Voting Matters

The leaders we elect make decisions that affect our daily lives: our communities, our families and our future. Elections are our chance to stand up for what matters most to us.

What We’re Doing

You may know the League from voter registration drives. Important and essential, voter registration is only one way we ensure this basic right.
The League of Women Voters hosts candidate interviews with partners in the Informed  Voter Coalition. These interviews allow citizens to hear candidates in their own words. Interviews are recorded for KSMU Radio and for video to be posted on this and partner websites. The League also hosts occasional forums on ballot issues and other election issues. We provide straightforward nonpartisan information about candidates and ballot issues through our popular printed Voter’s Guides and our easy-to-use digital service VOTE411.org
We equip voters with essential information about the election process in Missouri and in Greene, Christian and Webster counties.

You Can Support Voter Education

The League of Women Voters Education Fund is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization. Through tax-deductible donations to the Education Fund, we:
  • Host forums on community issues impacting citizens of Greene, Christian and Webster counties.
  • Bring elected officials to programs where they can interact and dialogue with their constituents.
  • Engage voters by providing nonpartisan information through our digital VOTE411.org and printed Voter’s Guide.

Donations to the Education Fund, a 501(c)(3)corporation, are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Support our nonpartisan efforts to educate citizens:
