Voting In Missouri’s Open Primary Elections
A primary election is one way a political party chooses its candidates for the general election. Missouri has an “open primary.” This means that as a Missouri voter, you may ask for a party ballot and the ballot you ask for does not have to represent your political party preferences.
If you do not want to receive a particular party ballot, you may still vote on all the proposed issues and for any nonpartisan candidates who may be running.
