Training set for Deputy Registrars

League members who are Greene County residents may consider becoming deputy registrars for the Greene County Clerk’s Office, helping citizens register to vote. Those who are already deputized as registrars must retake training every two years. Training sessions are scheduled this summer and fall. Here’s information from Chelsea Pointer of the Clerk’s office:

“Although we are not expecting any large elections in 2021, we want to continue to provide opportunities for voters to register with our Deputy Registrars.

“The purpose of the training will be to keep you updated on voter registration laws, ensure you are properly assisting voters in filling out voter registration applications and seeing ID.  Deputy Registrars need to take this training every 2 years.

“The trainings should last 1 hour.  At this point, we plan to have all trainings at our Elections Center, 1126 N Boonville Ave., however, please check your email the morning of your training in case we need to move the location.”
