Greene County Clerk Shane Schoeller has been appointed to the U.S. Elections Assistance Commission’s Technical Guidelines Development Committee. The federal Elections Assistance Commission chartered this committee in accordance with the Help America Vote Act of 2002.
As a member of the Technical Guidelines committee, Schoeller will be part of a 14‐member team that assists the EAC in the development of voluntary voting system guidelines.
The federal appointment comes on the heels of Schoeller’s election Sept. 9 as president of the Missouri Association of County Clerks and Election Authorities. As president of the county clerks association, Schoeller will help shape the organization’s response to state‐wide elections issues. Additionally, he will work with the Missouri General Assembly and the Secretary of State to help enact statutory and regulatory elections reforms.
“I am honored to serve on the TGDC and as president of MACCEA because both represent individuals from all sides of the political spectrum,” said Schoeller. “Election authorities across the country and especially right here in Missouri work hard to make sure our elections are free, fair and accessible.”
