Our Mission
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization dedicated to the informed and active participation of citizens in our democracy. We promote voter education and advocate for public policy issues on all levels of government.

Our Roles & Commitments
The role of the League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri is to encourage informed and active participation in government, increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy. This is accomplished through:
- Voter Service/Citizen Education: We present unbiased nonpartisan information about candidates, issues and the voting process.
- Action/Advocacy: We engage citizens in promoting positive solutions to public policy issues through education and advocacy.
The League of SWMO is committed to:
- Acting with trust, integrity and professionalism.
- Operating in an open and effective manner to meet the needs of those we serve.
- Building citizen participation in the democratic process.
- Studying key community issues at all governmental levels in an unbiased manner, and acting on those issues to achieve solutions in the public interest.
