The League is always working on issues vital to our Southwest Missouri communities. Most members find joining an Action Group is a rewarding way to make a difference.
Action Groups
Voter Services
Voter registration, voting rights advocacy, empowering underserved voters, Get Out the Vote (GOTV) events, voting legislation tracking.
Election Services
Produce printed Voter’s Guides, administer digital election guide Vote411, produce candidate forums and ballot issue programs.
Social and Economic Policy
Advocate for at-risk populations, track legislation affecting at-risk populations, study policies and issues affecting at-risk populations and inform members.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Plan programs aimed at increasing diversity, equity and inclusion in the League, raise understanding of DEI through partnerships with community leaders.
Environment and Sustainability
Advocate on legislation affecting climate change and the environment, inform League members on sustainable living.
NPR/KSMU Radio Program: Making Democracy Work
Interview government and community leaders on the weekly program airing on KSMU Radio.
Speakers Bureau

Provide community organizations with nonpartisan information on topical issues, elections, and voter news.
